Having been founded in August 1998, ARS MORIENDI released a first demo in 2000 (World of Hate). In the recent past, the band shared the stage with acts such as MASTIC SCUM, CHIMAIRA, TANKARD, VADER, PUNGENT STENCH and some others. Dissimulated was summoned by Heiko Ernstreiter (lead guitars), Michael Wegleitner (vocals and rhythm guitar), Christian Keimel (drums) and Thomas Iberer (bass).

Dissimulated is ARS MORIENDI’s self-financed return with a studio release, after four years of apparent silence, comes with professionally printed booklet (including lyrics) and was recorded at NeonSound production Studio between December 2003 and March 2004. And what would you know? The result is actually very appealing melodic Thrash Metal – damn right, Thrash Metal firmly rooted in the old school spirit yet with a strong liaison to the present – not least noticeable in the production. The vocals are the point in the crossroad that intersects Death and Thrash Metal (although they do not mirror any of the above mentioned melody, mostly present in the guitar parts).

Conceptually, the lyrics mirror the band’s name: «the Art of Dying». And because there are many different ways to die (not nearly enough, though), so do AM present a myriad sample of styles in their music – from Death to Thrash, Heavy and Black metal (in Endless Silent Sleep).

The closing track is a concentration camp for all non melody, as it is the calmest piece of the set and finishes it off with acoustic moments. An 8-minute long track that does not become boring for its length.
