Origin is the debut full length release by Quebec’s brutal Death Metal merchants KRALIZEC. The band was formed in 1998, and would appear to have been very active locally, winning competitions and receiving lots of radio airplay.

The album consists of nine tracks, including two fairly nondescript intros. The first song, Kralizec is an ultra brutal aural assault, with occasional melodic guitar parts, and deep SUFFOCATION-esque growls, combined with more vitriolic vocals. With the opening track, my expectations of KRALIZEC have suddenly soared, and the second song more than lives up to its predecessor. Oceano Nox retains the brutality of Kralizec, but incorporates more melody, especially in the chorus, and some clean vocals.

The remaining tracks are equally impressive, most notably the nine-minute epic Sailing To The Origin. The album finishes off with the instrumental Neant, an orgy of manic drumming and furious guitar solos. All fans of brutal Death Metal would do well to keep an ear out for KRALIZEC.
