Guitarists Tony Tipton and Ben Deskies joined forces in the year 2003 with the drummer Jason Trecazzi in order to breed NECROTIC DISGORGEMENT. Then, former REGURGITATION members recruited Joe Wolfe (CLEAN FLESH / EROTIC INCISIONS) on vocals and Rob Lesniak (DISLIMB) on bass, both of which would be out of the band by early and mid 2004, respectively.
ND then proceeded as a power trio – the original line-up. It then follows that by the time ND entered the Tony Schwab studios (Ohio), in July 2004, Tony handles all bass duties and Ben all vocals. The outcome is known to the mortal world as Suffocated in Shrinkwrap.
By now you must be setting your hopes on the REGURGITATION name – these are not entirely groundless. NECROTIC DISGORGEMENT play it brutal and they play it well. The vocals are not only deep – they are sick as sick can be. Then the guitar solos are very good, as is the riffing. The music is appealing and then there is the fact that the band succeeded in pulling such a musical show (!) on such short notice. This is heavily brutal, even though the production is not altogether brilliant (the snare could surely use a different approach, and the double bass would benefit highly from a little more relevance). While never ceasing to be technical, this is sick. Period.
There are no lyrics in Shrinkwrap (not that it makes much of a difference), but the thanks-list is enormous. Also, some of the song titles are funny: Orgasm of the Paraplegic, Vaginally Sodomized, Defecation Delicacy (LIVIDITY’s Graveyard Delicacy is a constant reminder) and Fingering the Rot, to name but a few examples.
The band is now in dire need of a new drummer, since Jason left the band immediately after the release of Suffocated in Shrinkwrap. A number of shows are yet foreseen.
On the graphics department… I am not much of a feminist, still I cannot help but think that guys who constantly take pleasure in drawing beautiful female bodies being stabbed, raped, maimed and tortured to death are either extremely homosexual (nothing wrong there), extremely misogynous (everything wrong there) or in extreme need of a visit to the psychiatrist. As if there were not enough holes in the female body already!! (Do pardon me, Mr Jon Zig, but this is an honest opinion). Shrinkwrap the cover guy’s dick, for fuck’s sake!
